How Hotels Around the World Are Putting the Latest AI Technology to Work

FranciscoBy Francisco
latest AI technology in hotels

Artificial intelligence (AI) is moving quickly from hospitality industry talking point to a practical hotel technology solution. Properties and global hotel groups are now using AI to help travelers find the right stay, respond to guest questions, set room rates, reduce food waste and personalize in-room experiences.

AI is increasingly being integrated into the systems that already support hotel operations. When implemented well, these tools can remove repetitive work, help employees make faster decisions and give them more time to focus on guests.

AI Is Changing How Guests Search for Hotels

Traditional hotel searches require travelers to select a destination, dates and filters. Generative AI allows them to begin with a natural request instead, such as finding a family-friendly beach hotel with connecting rooms and activities nearby.

In March 2026, Hilton introduced the Hilton AI Planner, a conversational digital concierge that helps users explore destinations, compare properties and review amenities across Hilton’s portfolio. IHG has taken a similar step by launching an IHG app in ChatGPT. It can search more than 7,000 hotels in over 100 countries using preferences expressed in everyday language, while displaying current availability, rates, maps and amenities.

Digital Concierges Are Supporting Hotel Teams

AI-powered chat and messaging tools can answer common questions about check-in, parking, breakfast, amenities and local attractions at any hour. They can also recognize when a request is complicated or sensitive and transfer it to an employee.

The scale is already significant. IHG reported that its digital chatbot handled 1.9 million guest conversations during the first half of 2025, 27% more than in the same period a year earlier. The goal is not to eliminate human service, but to prevent hotel teams from repeatedly answering routine questions when their attention is needed elsewhere.

AI Is Reaching the Hotel Room

In-room technology is becoming more responsive and personalized. At HITEC 2026, Samsung introduced The Frame Hospitality display, which includes Generative Wallpaper for creating customized on-screen backgrounds. Its AI-supported Live Translate feature can also provide real-time subtitles for local broadcasts and Samsung TV Plus programming for their Samsung hospitality TVs lineup.

AI is appearing in hotel wellness facilities as well. The Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel, introduced an AI-powered Reformer Pilates machine that adapts exercises to the individual user in real time.

Revenue Management Is Becoming More Predictive

Behind the scenes, AI-powered revenue management systems analyze booking pace, demand patterns, market conditions and other data to recommend room rates. This gives revenue teams a more current view than spreadsheets or historical performance alone.

IHG said in late 2025 that its AI-supported N2Pricing revenue management system was operating in approximately 6,000 hotels. Accor likewise reported that its IDeaS platform supports more than half of its hotels worldwide. For owners and operators, this is one of AI’s clearest applications: improving forecasts while reducing time spent on repetitive analysis.

Smart Kitchens Are Cutting Food Waste

Hotel kitchens are using computer vision, connected scales and predictive analytics to identify what is being discarded and forecast demand more accurately. Teams can then adjust purchasing, preparation, portions and menus using property-specific evidence.

Hilton’s Green Ramadan initiative used Winnow’s AI-enabled food-waste technology across 45 hotels in 14 countries in 2025. The program reduce plate waste by 26%. At Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, a Winnow implementation helped the property reduce food waste by 30% in six months.

AI Can Make Hotels More Accessible

Some of the most meaningful applications are designed around independence. Accor is testing OOrion, an AI-based accessibility tool, in 23 hotels across France and Switzerland. Through a smartphone or connected glasses, guests with visual impairments can identify and locate nearby objects and written information.

Elsewhere, AI-enabled delivery and cleaning robots are taking on repetitive physical tasks. These machines use sensors and mapping systems to navigate corridors, transport amenities and clean public areas. Their best role is supportive: handling predictable tasks while hotel employees manage exceptions, relationships and moments that require judgment.

The Future of Hotel AI Remains Human

The latest AI technology in hotels is not replacing hospitality with automation. It is becoming an operational layer that can make service faster, decisions more informed and experiences more relevant.

Hotels still need clear privacy policies, secure system integrations, accurate data and employee oversight. AI should solve a defined guest or operational problem rather than be installed simply because it is new. The properties that benefit most will be those that pair intelligent technology with the warmth, empathy and flexibility that only well-supported hotel teams can provide.
